Clae Spring 2009 Collection

These are some of the first looks of the Spring 2009 Clae footwear collection. I am a huge fan of these sneakers and really need to find myself a pair of these bad boys. The Russell, the Cousteau, and the Whitman are shown here in a subtle black colorways with some very subtle details. The Russell has two white eyelets on the top, the Cousteau has contrasting white stitching, and, my favorite, the Whitman has some patten leather accents. I just really like the wingtip inspired detail on the toe.

Retro Sport Bulls Hoodie

Even though the Bullies are doing terrible and might not make the playoffs, I still got love for em. Over at 80s Purple again.

Grn Appletree Men's Strap hoodie

I pretty much dig anything with straps. I don't know why. But it is sweet how they simplified a double breasted jacket. Get it at 80s Purple.

Lil Wayne- Hot Revolver

Another song from Wayne of his new album Rebirth. Hot Revolver is a better track and gets me a little more. I think I just really didn't dig the panty line in the last song, he said it a lot and I thought it was kinda dumb. Check it out here courtesy of Kanye's Blog.

Kitsune Striped Jacket

This is a great jacket for spring time if I must say so. It feature blue and white striping with a sly fox over the left chest. I really dig the collar on this jacket, I don't know something about those collars just really gets me on every jacket I see. This is available on Colette.

Futaba by Akemi Tanaka

What a great idea. A futaba, a table and a sofa, it's genius. This is perfect for those cramped New York Apartment and maybe that is why this Brooklyn based designer created this great piece. Available here for the nominal price of $4,750.

Obama Skateborad Deck

Created by Oliver Barrett, this limited edition skateboard deck can be purchased at UrbanOutfitters. Better act now as there are only 800 available. I was in Urban yesterday and almost bought one but it was scuffed up at the bottom, gotta have a perfect Obama one. This is perfect to hang up as a decoration and it's only $68.

Tom Ford James Bond Aviators

The Tom Ford James Bond Aviators are a limited edition pair of shades that are available on ssense. As worn by Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace these shades feature dark blue tinted lenses, silver tone metal rims, leather wrapped temple tips, and the signature logo etched at the left lens. Man my buddy is going to go nuts over theses.

Knife Hooks

Once again here on Freshies I bring you weapon inspired things for the home. The other was throwing stars that are used as magnet. Created by TC Studio these knife hooks bring you nice and cozy Dexter-type look to your house. They are selling for $21.95 at bouf. 

Three Sixty Skateboard Table

Say it with me now, dope, D-O-P-E.  The Three Sixty Skateboard Table was created by Mauerer Hendrichs studio. What a great design and concept for a table. Clean, simple, innovative, and fresh. The skateboard trucks allow the table to turn 360 degrees like a Lazy Susan. 

Matt Bonnerama

While I was watching a highlight of THE Matt Bonner drain a three at the buzzer before halftime, something dawned on me. How in the world has Matt Bonner gone from completely irrelevant end of the bench warmer to somehow providing the Spurs with a legit 3 pt threat and actually contributing something other then his hilarity as a basketball player? Let me give you a little glimpse into the life of Bonner his last couple of NBA seasons. In 06-07 the man averaged 2.8 minutes, .8 pts, .3 rebounds, 0 assists and .2 steals. In 07-08 his averages improved slightly at 2 pts, 1 assist, 1 rebound, and 4.2 minutes a game. This is what we call basketbawful! This year he has emerged and is averaging 8.2 pts a game, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists. He has been in the league only 4 years and I think he is finally coming around to becoming the best player ever, just kidding, but seriously he has come so far. I can see him becoming a Robert Horry type player, hitting big shots when you need them most in the finals. Can you say future Finals MVP!!!! Let us rejoice in the glory that is Matt Bonner. 

LIl Wayne- Prom Queen

I don't really now what this is. You can't call this rock, so I guess I'm going to categorize this at hip-rock or rock-hop. Wayne uses the autotuner again and this time it just really doesn't really work. The rock album is something that might have to grow on me, but at this time I am not sure how I feel about it. Well yeah I do, I don't like it. People well buy this album cause it is Wayne and I know I will buy it as well to find out what this whole Kanye Inspired crossover album is all about. Just listen to it and then let me know what you think. Prom Queen.

Teriyaki Boyz f. Kanye West

I really like the Teriayki Boyz and the fact that Kanye will grace the track is something. I like how the Boyz bring in some English for those of us that don't speak Japanese and that is really what Kanye does for the track. Check it our here.

Fendi Trunk Desk

I have been on this crazy trunk binge lately and if I had any sort of money I would have more trunks then I know what to do with. This is just one of a kind, words can't really explain I feel about this trunk desk. Nigo, the head of Bathing Ape, recently visited the Fendi factory and blogged about this trunk desk. If I could read Japanese, I would be able to tell you more of what his visit was like, but I can't. This is dope and I want it.

Tom Ford Jeans

The man of all things couture and luxury is coming out with yet another piece of exceptional quality and design. Tom Ford is churning out $990 jeans, yes, $990. To make you feel better about blowing this much money on a pair of jeans they come with 18 karat gold buttons, fine silk lined pockets, raw, wash salvage japanese denim that won't bleed or shrink, and a black card. Just kidding about the black card, but you might need one to get these jeans. 

On a completely different note, does anyone else see the similarity between Dave Matthews and Tom Ford. Maybe Tom Ford is Dave Matthews, what a talented guy. You be the judge. Go google a picture of each one and get back to me.

The Cool Kids- Pennies

The Cool Kids are simply the shit. I mean they bring this heavy bass 80s sound and just kill it with their lyrics and twist on modern hip-hop. I really hope that you have heard of them and if you haven't you need to get your hands on The Bake Sale LP or one of their various other mixtapes from Datpiff.com. By the way Datpiff.com is the premier mixtape website in my book.

Kanye West X Louis Vuitton

Another shoe by the now self proclaimed Martin Louie King Jr., see his arrogance here.  Unfortunately, he does have a lot to talk about since he got his own shoe and they seem to be reppin em hard. Kanye has not forgotten about the girls in his new footwear line-up with LV. Shown here are two of said shoes. I like the bear on the laces to keep em tight. The thing that is really impressive about these shoes, all of the shoes, is that they seem to have this simplistic detailed design that is appealing. 

Lil Wayne's New Rock Album

Lil Wayne has set a date for his newest release. Titled "Rebirth" Wayne will be releasing his rock album on April 7th. His first single "Prom Queen" will be on the internet after a live stream from a concert in San Diego on Jan. 27th. Apparently you can view the stream on his myspace page.

David Yurman

Everyone is all over Tom Ford shades, but I am all over these Yurman shades. Look at the detail and craftsmenship that goes into everyone. All the ladies know what I am talking about cause I am sure that they have a piece of his jewelry at home.

Wooden Mac Book Case

A wooden Macbook case? I am in. Talk about top of the line luxury and safety. This bad boy is dope. Rainer Spehl's case is lined with leather and has a magnetic closing device made specifically for those 15-in. books.

Kanye West X Louis Vuitton

Here is pair number 2 from the Kanye West collection in collaboration with LV. A seriously popping red turns me away from these shoes, but you know everyone and their brother will be trying to get a pair as long as the Louis Vuitton Don keeps pumping em out. I liked the boat shoe better mainly cause it was white. 

Gourmet

Gourmet is always coming out with some seriously fresh footwear. They are showing for the first time at Bread and Butter Barcelona with their Fall/Winter 2009 collection. I don't have a name for these right here, but I really dig the premium brown leather with the completely zippable outer layer. Fresh.

Burberry Wool Overcoat

A mixture of grey, black, and white weaves makes this coat look grey from a distance and you better be damn sure it will make you look good. Burberry has a history of making really nicely crafted garments and this jacket is no exception. It is on sale at Burberry, but don't get that credit card out just yet, it will still be expensive.

Dunlin Condillac Travel Bag

If anyone knows me they know I love my urban tote bags. Man, I love urban toting, I get such a pleasure out of toting around the Chi that it puts a large smile on my face. Anyway, Dunlin has created a bag that has a compartment on just about every conceivable area, there is even a laptop pocket for inside the bag. I would also like to mention that the dark leather is very appealing. Purchase here. 

LeBron James

What is it exactly that Mr. James is saying here. Might he be ready to inform the waiting world that he is ready to embrace his superstar stature and grace New York with his talent? I have my own thoughts on this subject, but I am just too unsure on what he might do. Why leave a Cleveland team that shows real promise to win a NBA Championship, but then again the Knicks have some serious cap space. They have talked about bringing in two another star to compliment James and Stevie Nash as talked about taking a reduced salary to win Championship. Plus the chance to play for D'Antoni and his high paced offensive might just be enough to pry James away from the Cavs. Just think about it, the Knicks would become an instant powerhouse, the highest scoring team in the league, and maybe a defensive threat the way LeBron hustles and gets the most out of his teammates. With that said, I think LBJ should continue to change a diminished culture and join one D.Rose in the Greatest City On Earth CHICAGO!!!!! That's right the Bulls. Now get it done Paxson or you'll be gone, well you might already be on your way out anyway. Thanks for drafting Rose.

Heyday Summer/Fall 09

Heyday by Darin Hager have got some nice shoes coming out for the Summer/Fall 09 collection. The Super Shift, shown here, feature a wrap around strap and some really nice premium leather. Straps have really taken over shoe design lately and I don't think it is going anywhere.

Deepest, Bluest, My Hand is like Shark's Fin

Today I spent a lot of time on YouTube looking at shit and I was reminded of how awesomely hilarious Deep Blue Sea is. This might be the best scene of this movie. For some reason Samuel L. Jackson has become completely exempt from all the rules of making/being in a terrible movie. How many bad movies has this guy been in and still be allowed to make another one, if reality was anything like Entourage he would be back in Queens Boulevard like Vinny Chase. Man has that show gone downhill after the 2nd season. Back to Samuel L. Jackson, you really have to admire the man, he does whatever movies he wants with absolutely no repercussions. I love every movie the man does and he has earned the right to do any movie he wants. Now respect the man and go watch Snakes On A Plane immediately.

Wallpaper* Design Awards

I know I am late, but hey, better late then never. Wallpaper* magazine has come out with their annual design awards for 2009. With a Kanye West gracing the panel you know it is going to have to be pretty freshies.  Along with Kanye there are some actual esteemed designs with genuine knowledge of the business such as Jean Nouvel, Ines de la Fressange, to name a few. Lil Wayne ft. Pharrell- "Yes"

Damn this song is nice. Weezy actually sounds like he took a break from the syrup and threw down some sick rhymes. As for Pharrell I like what he brings to the track, his use of the autotuner isn't bad as you can barely tell he is using it except for a couple of lines. Check it out courtesy of Kanye's Blog.

Kanye's Louis Vuitton Boat Shoe

In true Kanye fashion he gave everyone a sneak peak of his collaboration with Louis Vuitton today on his blog. He has apparently created 6 designs with LV and this is just one of the many. Will he let everyone in on his designs via his blog or did he just do this because of the video that TMZ put out of him with these shoes on? On to the shoes, they look pretty nice with the shoelace tassels. The new back on the shoe is what really sets this pair apart from the rest. That is a blindingly white color. 

Lil Wayne to Release Rock Album

Lil Wayne is taking a page out Kanye's book by trying to release a rock album. In an interview with MusicMatch.com rapper Drake confirmed that Weezy will be dropping a rock album and that he, Drake, has a song on there. He likened Wayne's new Project to 808s & Heartbreaks in that is just going to throw people off. Wanye has dabbled with rock before on The Carter 3 as well as several other tracks that he has provided a simple guitar rift for. "Shoot Me Down" off The Carter 3 is one of the more notorious songs as he raps "where the f*ck is my guitar" at one point in the song. All we can do now is wait and hope that it will be as successful as Kanye's, which I'm sure it will be. With the superstar status that Weezy already holds it will be hard for fans to not buy the album to see what all the fuss is about.

Shades of Greige S/S 09

Coming out in February are some really nice pieces from Shades of Greige. Their S/S 09 collection will consist of some lightweight jackets, knitwear, and accessories. Here is the a preview of the M-65 inspired jacket, which is sick, and a nautical style jacket. I really, really dig the M-65 Jacket, The belt on the bottom of the jacket is dope as well as the top two buttons that cross over the original button line. When I get the link to where you can purchase these items I will update this post.

Marty McFly Shoe, The Air McFly

Thanks to the people over at Limitedhype, they brought to my attention the shoes Marty McFly wears in Back to the Future or they are close to um. This cat spent $4k to have these babies custom handmade and it was well worth it. I don't think you will find a single shoe like this in the world except for Marty McFly's very own pair. They are called the Air McFly's. Now stare at these cause that is the closet your are going to get to having a pair of your own. You can read the whole interview with Mark Kurath at SneakerFreaker.

Maharishi Spring 2009 Desert Zip Boot

Made from leather, canvas, and hemp materials. The Desert Zip Boot has a sick zipper straight up the side of the laces that give it a look no other shoe has. The subtle off white color with minimal distractions really lets the "boot" showcase the design and zipper. 

Crack A Bottle

Finally Slim Shady has come back with some sick shit. Featuring 50 cent and Dr. Dre, Crack a Bottle is the track that we have all been waiting for. Even Dr. Dre can't help but to spit a couple of rhymes on the track and 50 cent is finally back to rapping something that I actually want to listen to. The beat is dope bringing in some simple hi-hats, a nice piano beat, and some bass to throw it all together. Really just something that will bring the occasional listener back to rap. Splinter the Wooden Car

Created by North Carolina University student Joe Harmon. The frame is crafted entirely out of wood and is expected to weigh in at 2500 lbs. and have about 600 hp from a twin supercharged, 4.6 litre V8 engine. 

Sci-Fi Sunglasses by Maison Martin Margiela

The first of may to come by Martin Margiela. He worked in collaboration with Italian eyewear brand Marcolin. L'incognito, as they are called, is made from one piece of polycarbonate. Over at Oki-Ni. 

Ato Cow Hide boot

Created by Ato Mastsumoto. These have not previously available outside of Japan until now. Oki-Ni has an exclusive distribution deal with Ato Cow Hide Boot. They are not to be released in the States or Europe until next January 2010. The shoe features two patent leather velcro straps and the rest is premium leather. Get them over at Oki-Ni.
